Janelle Monáe Wants To Be Storm In The MCU

We would be in San Diego Comic-Con season, and usually we’d see a big Hall H presentation from Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios. The question this year would’ve been around the Fox/Marvel characters Fantastic Four and X-Men joining the MCU.

While there’s no news, Janelle Monáe talked to Empire expressing her desire to play an iconic X-Men character.

The multi-talent revealed she was recording her recent album the same time Black Panther was shooting and has a character in mind to bring to the MCU.

“I have definitely have thrown it out there,” she teases. “One of my dreams has always been to play Storm.

“I don’t know where they are with that. A lot of women have played and they’ve done an exceptional job, and I would love to be in that line of artists to get to do Storm justice.”

It never crossed my mind, but Monáe would be a top pick for Feige if saved for a fully crowded SDCC, the fan reaction both in Hall H and online would be massive. Additionally, introducing the character in Black Panther 2 would be a smart move, especially with the history of T’Challa and Ororo Munroe having been romantically linked and even got married.

When this story it’s more coverage and does the rounds on social media later, I look forward to seeing Boss Logic creating some awesome fanart.

Update – Like clockwork at 5:39pm here’s BossLogic’s fanart.
