Sony Pictures have ruined any goodwill with their Spider-Man films after they knocked us on our knees to reveal their SPUMC.
Someone within the marketing team thought it was a good idea to call their Spider-Man universe the Sony Pictures Universe Of Marvel Characters. What’s incredible is not only was the person not fired, but everyone agreed that SPUMC was a good idea.

To never punish themselves more, someone told the press, in the form of IGN.
I mean seriously after doing a decent job with the highly entertaining Venom, the fantastic Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse and the pretty crap but highly successful MCU Spider-Man. Sony were only going up and now we SPUMC on our faces.
I hope this utter piss-take on Sony from fans worldwide will be the kick up the arse for Tom Rothman to come out and slap some heads to give a decent name to these collective of films.
I mean, stick with The Spider-Verse or if they really must have some branding then Sony Pictures Spider-Verse and take the piss out of SPUMC in the same story and have it mentioned in marketing for Venom 2.

Because it looks like Spider-Man has a cracking future within Sony with Morbius coming out March 19, 2021, following up a couple of months later on June 25 is Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Spider-Verse 2 on October 7, 2022, and the rescheduled untitled Spider-Man 3 moving to November 5, 2021.
Once Tom Holland’s web-slinger is free of its MCU commitment, we can see some great Spidey movies again.
