DC has unveiled the first look at their final animated film of the year, and it has a stellar cast featuring talent from Star Trek, Baywatch and Glee.
Entertainment Weekly revealed Darren Criss, best known for his role on Glee, will be playing the Man of Steel in Superman: Man of Tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Star Trek and Heroes’ Zachary Quinto will be playing Supes’ greatest villain, Lex Luthor and joining the pair is Alexandra Daddario (True Detective and Baywatch) as Louis Lane.

The cast is finally rounded off by Agents of SHIELD’s Brett Dalton, and Walking Dead’s Ryan Hurst will be playing Lobo and the supervillain Parasite respectively.
Ike Amadi (Mortal Kombat Legends” Scorpion’s Revenge) will be Martian Manhunter, Neil Flynn and Bellamy Young will play Jonathan and Martha Kent.
The film will be directed by Chris Palmer, who’s helming his first DC animated film, and written by long-standing DCA writer Tim Sheridan after penning The Reign of Supermen.
It looks like the animation team has taken a style cue from the Adam West animated Batman films giving Man of Tomorrow a sixties feel and I’m very excited to see it.

As for the story, EW are saying it’ll focus on a young Clark Kent interning at The Daily Planet and learning how to become a superhero and saving the city of Metropolis.
So it looks if the film has two villains in Lobo and Parasite, then with the reveal of this image, Superman and Lex are friends before we witness the end of it and the beginnings of Luthor becoming the character we know.
I’m excited to see what the film has in store. Maybe this is the beginning of more known talent coming on board for future movies.
Superman: Man of Tomorrow comes out on digital download, 4K Ultra combo pack, Blu-ray combo pack and DVD this summer.
