While things are starting to look up in regards to DC’s big screen live-action films, DC Animation movies have been consistently top notch and hopefully, this will continue on their next release.
The next upcoming project is one of the most popular modern Batman stories as Batman: Hush is coming to Blu-ray, DVD, Digital and DC’s streaming service DC Universe this summer in the US and possibly the UK in the autumn.
Batman: Hush is inspired by the well-loved 2002-2003 storyline written by Jeph Loeb and the story focuses on a mysterious new villain known as Hush, who uses the Dark Knight’s rogues gallery of villains to destroy not only Batman’s crime-fighting career but Bruce Wayne’s personal life.
IGN has not only given the first look photo from the animated movie, but also the stellar voice cast.

Jason O’Mara will continue his fantastic work as Batman and he’ll be joined by his New 52 animated voice cast members, Jerry O’Connell as Superman, Rebecca Romijn as Lois Lane, Rainn Wilson as Lex Luther, Sean Maher as Nightwing, Bruce Thomas as Jim Gordon, Stuart Allan as Damian Wayne and James Garrett as Alfred.
Maury Sterling, from Homeland fame, has been cast in the important role of Thomas Elliot. The final names to be cast include, Jennifer Morrison as Selina Kyle, Vanessa Williams as Amanda Waller, Jason Spisak as Joker, Geoffrey Arend as Riddler, Adam Gifford as Bane, Dachie Alessio as Lady Shiva and Tara Strong will be voicing a Reporter.
The only confusing is Peyton List is credited twice, so it’s unknown if List is doing double duty voicing Poison Ivy and Batgirl or if both actresses named Peyton List are doing these roles. One List is playing Poison Ivy in Gotham and probably continue in the role in this film and the other List is a Disney star.
The surprising thing is this film is part of the DCA’s New 52 universe and not a singular, standalone feature. Additionally, I’ve been fans upset that Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill aren’t involved but I’m not. I love the duo and enjoy whenever they get used but they’re always used.
It also looks I’m the outsider that enjoys O’Mara’s work as Batman and wouldn’t be surprised if Harley Quinn is apart of the film, she has a small cameo in the graphic novel, that Strong will be doing that role too.
