After helming the two previous Bond films, Sam Mendes is back with 1917 and we now know the film’s big-name stars joining the drama.
Richard Madden, Colin Firth, Benedict Cumberbatch and Mark Strong have signed on to star in the First World War drama.
They have joined a cast that already included Daniel Mays, Andrew Scott, Adrian Scarborough, Jamie Parker, Nabhaan Rizwan and Claire Duburcq.
The film focuses on two young British soldiers, played by George McKay and Dean-Charles Chapman, on a single day at the height of World War I.
Mendes is back helming a film since 2015’s Spectre and has also written the screenplay for 1917. Production is set to begin on April 1.

The film will be released under DreamWorks Pictures and Universal with a release date of December 25 in the US and there has been no date announced for the UK as of yet.
