It’s been 23 years since Dwyane Johnson was cast as villain/anti-hero Black Adam, a movie for the longest time never felt it was going to happen. However, it might be becoming more of a reality as Johnson has his first co-star, Noah Centineo.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Centineo will be playing Atom Smasher, a superhero who can control his molecular structure and can manipulate his size and strength.

This is, if the film is successful, a career-making move for the actor has made his name as the internets boyfriend due to his roles on Netflix teen rom-com To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and the sequel as well as Sierra Burgess Is A Loser.
Jaume Collet-Serra, who recently directed Johnson in Disney’s Jungle Cruise, will be helming the Shazam! spinoff for Warner Bro’s sister studio New Line and DC.
Little is known about the storyline, but it’s likely it’ll follow the most recent origins where he’s linked to the fictional Middle Eastern kingdom of Kahndaq. Where an evil priest Ahk-ton destroys Adam’s homeland and family and in revenge kills the priest and overthrows Kahndaq’s leadership to become a dictator.

The news of Atom Smasher being part of the film could lead weight to the rumour of the Justice Society of America appearing in the film. However, I’m sure we’ll know a lot more during the DC fan event in August, DC FanDome.
