It’s been a couple of months since J.J. Abrams signed a $500-million-dollar deal for his production company Bad Robot to be part of the WarnerMedia family. Now we know what his first couple of exciting projects he’ll be working on.
According to Deadline, HBO Max has greenlit three series from Abrams they include, an original idea from the Star Wars director, Duster, Overlook (inspired by Stephen King’s The Shining) and a show based on the DC Comic Justice League Dark.
Overlook seems to be an anthology sort of sequel to King’s infamous book The Shining as the horror-thriller will focus on untold, terrifying stories based on the famous haunted hotel in the classic tale and will feature iconic characters.

This won’t be the first time Bad Robot, King and WBTV have worked together as they previously collaborated on the Hulu psychological-horror series, Castle Rock.
The US trade is reporting the series will be reminiscent of the Psycho prequel Bates Motel.
Elsewhere. Abrams will be co-writing Duster with The Walking Dead’s LaToya Morgan. The series will be set in 1970’s Southwest and revolves around of a getaway driver for a growing crime syndicate that goes from awful to much worst.
Finally, details on the Justice League Dark series are being kept under wraps.
It was reported back at the beginning of the year Bad Robot were developing projects on characters based on the Justice League Dark.

No word as to if this is one character or a team from the beginning as this offshoot of the Justice League deals with mystical and supernatural threats coming to the world.
As I said back in January, I’d have three movies based on the three most significant character from the group; John Constantine, Swamp Thing and Zatanna.
However, if you wanted to get people and fans to sign up to HBO Max then focusing a 6-8 episode series on Constantine would make the most sense as he’s the most well known of all the character. On the other hand, Zatanna has the biggest unlocked potential.
Whatever the case HBO Max is starting to become something really awesome.
