Major San Diego Comic Con broke yesterday as it was announced that Warner Bros WILL NOT be attending Hall H this year, which will be a massive blow to both fans and the con itself.
However, WB will be instead be joining forces with DC to bring fans a mega con experience as they’ll have their own super-sized space which will give fans the chance to experience to different worlds of DC including, comic books, TV, film and much more.
Alongside the DC properties will be an array of popular Warner Bros franchises, all under one roof.
When it was first announced that the studio was skipping Hall H it was confusing considering all the major franchises coming throughout the year, in 2020 and future projects (especially in the DCEU).

On the other hand, the announcement that comes shortly after suggests WB/DC are planning something new and exciting and instead of sticking to the con’s schedule of going on first thing Saturday morning. They can plan their own presentations for later in the afternoon or evening, maybe go toe-to-toe with Marvel Studios.
In a lot of ways, this could be seen as WB’s own mini version of Disney’s convention D23.
Another reason why I think this is happening is that DC’s streaming service DC Universe will be reporting from SDCC and possibly show the DC Films panels live around the world. Imagine how fantastic it would be for those who can’t afford to go able to watch these panels with fans in the building.
Elsewhere, Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins tweeted her sadness of not being at Hall H this year so she decided to break Twitter by unveiling the first utterly beautiful teaser poster.
Honestly, when it comes to posters WB/DC continues to completely own the game and I want this picture framed and in my room. In case the significance of the gold armour on Wonder Woman, it’s the golden eagle armour from the comics.

As for what Warner Bros and DC could be planning for this super-sized space, especially when it comes to the film slate.
I can see Todd Phillips come out and talk about Joker with a trailer attached as it’ll help get the buzz before the October release date. Then with 2020, the two biggest films from the studio will be Birds of Prey and Wonder Woman 1984.
So I can see Jenkins along with her cast, Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Kristen Wiig and Pedro Pascal come and talk about WW84 with the first trailer and hopefully our first look or quick tease to Wiig’s Cheetah.

Meanwhile, we could see Margot Robbie coming out with her BoP director Cathy Yan and co-stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Ewan McGregor, Ella Jay Basco, Chris Messina and Rosie Perez.
We could get first look images of the cast as their characters and a first trailer.
Finally, we could see James Gunn come out to quickly talk about The Suicide Squad and the same with Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
As for what WB could show the biggest would be Kong vs Godzilla.
It could still be an exciting SDCC in Hall H depending if Marvel Studios comes out full guns blazing and unveil their new slate for their new era. However, if they don’t attend this could be major sighs of things to come.
