John Cena Looking To Join The Suicide Squad

It was only a matter of time for John Cena to join a superhero franchise.

Now it’s likely the WWE wrestler will be coming to the DCEU as Variety is reporting that Cena is in talks to join James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad.

Similar to his new co-star Idris Elba, Cena’s role is currently unknown but he’ll be joining returning stars Margot Robbie and Jai Courtney as Harley Quinn and Captain Boomerang respectively.

Fans are fancasting who Cena could play and there was a lot of Peacemaker and King Shark. However, there’s a chance they could be replacing Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, which would shitty on Kinnaman (similar to when Elba was going to play Deadshot before WB/Gunn changed their mind) but still possible.

I hope they don’t do random DC villains and the Bumblebee star goes full out and becomes King Shark like Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje did when wearing make-up and prosthetics.

As for production, it’s set to start in the fall and according to Discussing Film, the Suicide Squad sequel will be shooting in London and set to hit cinemas Aug 6, 2021.
