Zac Efron & Amanda Seyfried Will Voice Fred & Daphne In Animated Scooby-Doo Film

The new big screen Scooby-Doo animated movie have found their Fred and Daphne in the form of Zac Efron and Amanda Seyfried.

Deadline is reporting as well as the casting the Warner Bros Animation Group have given the Scooby-Doo feature its official title of Scoob.

It’s a simple title and one that will get fans on board as it’s the nickname of our favourite animated dog.

Getting names like Efron and Seyfried will help get families interested as they’re the biggest names to be attached, no offence to the other members of the voice cast.

Speaking of which, the new additions will be joining a cast that already includes Gina Rodriguez as Velma, Will Forte will be playing Shaggy and WB have brought in legendary voice actor Frank Welker to voice Scooby-Doo, a role he has been doing since the 1969-1970 series Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!

Tracey Morgan is also on board as Captain Caveman.

This is the first time since 2004 live-action Scooby-Doo 2: Monster Unleashed that the Mystery Inc gang have been on the big screen and their return will focus on the gang teaming up with other Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters to save the world from the evil Dick Dastardly.

Basically, it looks like Scoob is being used to set-up an animated Hanna-Barbera universe and I’m perfectly happy with that.

Tony Cervone is directing the film that’s eyeing a May 2020 release.
