It’s been a character Marvel fans have wanted to see for years, and now they’ve finally got their wish as Richard Rider aka Nova is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
According to Deadline, Marvel has tasked Moon Knight writer Sabir Pirzada to pen the story and it’s currently unknown if the project will be developed as a feature-length film or a limited series for Disney+, but obviously Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige will be producing.

As showcased recently, the studio is digging into their lesser-known characters with Nova first appeared in 1976 and is a member of the intergalactic police force called the Nova Corps and gained superpowers including enhanced strength, flight and resistance to injury.
The character doesn’t get involved with Marvel’s main characters like Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, but they have been in battle with the Skrulls, who are gaining a bigger role in the MCU first appearing in Captain Marvel, before a quick cameo in Spider-Man: Far From Home and will be showing up in the Disney+ series, Secret Invasion.
As stated above, Nova has for some reason been a must-see for MCU fans, and the project will basically be a cop show/film in space likely in the lines of Lethal Weapon and Bad Boys, or they could go the route of Rider being a rookie and it’ll be a Police Academy in space.
As for Pirzada, he should be seen as an inspiration for any young writer (like myself) to get into the industry gained this high-profile project having worked through the studio’s writer community, recently being part of the writers room for Moon Knight.
