PlayStation has secured themselves more sales of the PS5 over the next couple of years. During Sony’s PlayStation Showcase 2021, it was revealed Insomniac Games are creating not only a sequel to Spider-Man but also a Wolverine game.
Spider-Man 2 would’ve been enough to get me hyped, but add the fact we’ll be playing as the mutant at some point brings me many exciting feelings.
Following both Spider-Man and Mile Morales games, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will continue both these characters stories and, by the look of things, play as the duo Spider-Men.
Judging by the trailer, Kraven will be one of the villains with the surprise reveal of Venom, and it was announced after that Candyman star Tony Todd will be voicing the alien symbiote. I’m just hoping following the post-credit scene, Harry Osborn will be the man behind the symbiote and we get the emotions of seeing best friends Peter and Harry fight each other and it being revealed to one another who they are.
It looks like I’ve got two years to complete Spider-Man and Miles Morales before the game comes exclusively to PS5 in 2023.
Not only are we getting Spider-Man 2, but the game developer is also making Marvel’s Wolverine!!! It’s been revealed that this game will be a standalone, so there is no need to worry about the game connecting to the web-slinger, but I can see it being the start of Insomniac building out the mutant universe.
They’ve also confirmed the game is in early development, but the next couple of years are going to be awesome.
These aren’t the only Marvel games on the way, as Eidos Montreal released a new trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy.
Elsewhere during the Showcase, a teaser trailer for the Knights of the Old Republic remake, which will be a time-limited PS5 console exclusive before coming to PC. Additionally, the game has no confirmed release date.
We also got a story trailer for the Ella Balinska led Forspoken, a Rainbow Six Extraction action trailer, a remastered Alan Wake. Grand Theft Auto 5 is also on the way. Finally, a new God of War is coming out, focusing on Ragnarok and stars Thor.
