It’s finished. It’s finally ended. The Tomorrowverse closes its chapter on the biggest wet fart possible and I went through my own emotions throughout this whole trilogy.

Part 1 was boring, Part 2 turned into anger and now with Part 3, I’m not just disappointed, I’m actually glad. Because moving forward with DC Studios’ Peter Safan and James Gunn will oversee everything animated connected to their DCU and Elsewhere stories.

Maybe there was more planned with the Tomorrowverse before the birth of DC Studios, but it wouldn’t have mattered, as with all the other animated DC movies post The Long Halloween double-header, it was all going downhill.

Once again, I was bored by the story, highlighting again why they should’ve been faithful to the iconic comic story up to a point to make it work as a double bill.

They didn’t need to make it a Flash film for the first part before moving to Supergirl-centric and now ending with a Justice League adventure, with the second half of this movie focusing on Constantine returning to the New 52 world.

Much like its predecessors, it’s such a mess. Why even care?

However, I will say the one thing in this trilogy that got to me on an emotional level is the return to the universe of Batman: The Animated Series. Hearing Kevin Conroy speak for the final time before his passing, especially this final sentence, really hit a nerve.

“And if it has to end. At least I can go out like this, being Batman!” with the Danny Elfman score playing in the background was the perfect way to say goodbye to a whole generation of fans alongside Mark Hamill, his Joker.

Are There Any Bonus Features?

Yes, there are two featurettes: A Multiverse Of Inspiration and Jon and John: Stewart and Constantine.

Verdict

While it’s emotional to hear Conroy say goodbye as Batman, I’m so glad this is all over.
