When I reviewed Part One of Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths, I mentioned how I don’t like being negative and I hoped Part Two would be an improvement.

How wrong could I be.

In fact, it’s actually worse.

The saga continues, this time our heroes are fighting against an endless army of Shadow Demons hell-bent on the destruction of all reality swarms over our world and Earths! Meanwhile, a long-buried secret between the Monitor and Supergirl will threaten to crush our last defence.

You’d think by this synopsis that you’d get a great combination of action and heartfelt storytelling. Sadly, you get none of either.

The one upside to the lacklustre Part One was the Flash story, as you had a main focal point. This time your time is spent split between three characters – Supergirl, Batman and a dickhead called Charles Halstead aka Psycho Pirate.

For the whole film, you’re completely lost as we once again dart around from different timelines and character arcs and they never once make you care about any of it.

My biggest issue with Geoffrey Arend’s performance is Charles talks about being a British child and going to a boarding school but never once having an upper-class English accent. Instead, he’s full-on American, and I wouldn’t mind about the accent, it’s the fact they mention he’s English and do nothing with it.

Don’t get me wrong, I want to see this prick get his just desserts in Part Three.

Elsewhere, I was excited about seeing Batman interacting with different versions of the Bat-family, especially Terry McGinnis, who only knows old man Bruce and not Wayne in his prime.

Again, that goes nowhere.

Finally, we reach Supergirl, which was the sort of lead character taking over from Barry Allen, and we watch her story, from being a survivor to a prisoner to an adopted daughter to knowing the truth.

God bless Donnelly. She gives it everything as Kara, but this film beat the lasting ounce of care in me and now I can’t wait for it to all end.

Does This Have Bonus Features?

Yes. Two short featurettes focusing on the Bat-family and the voice cast.

We also get to see a sneak peek at Part Three.

Verdict

Save your time and watch something better.
